Climate action
Our commitment to a low carbon future
Climate action
At H&H, we believe that the health of people and the health of our planet are inseparable.
Taking decisive action on climate change is not only a responsibility but a necessity for the future of our planet. As part of our broader sustainability strategy, we are committed to meaningful, measurable action on climate change across our entire value chain.

What is Climate Action?
Climate action refers to the steps taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate the impacts of climate change, including reducing energy consumption, optimising transportation, and minimising waste.
At H&H, climate action means embedding emissions reduction into every operational decision, from how we source our ingredients to how we ship products worldwide. We have implemented key initiatives to reduce our environmental impact across our entire value chain, spanning product packaging, transportation and operations.

Measuring our GHG footprint
You cannot reduce what you do not measure.
Every year, we measure and report our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across our entire value chain, from the raw materials we source to the products that reach consumers.
Our emissions are calculated using the internationally recognised Greenhouse Gas Protocol methodology, ensuring our data is rigorous, comparable and transparent. We continuously improve the quality of our emissions data, because accurate measurement is the foundation of meaningful progress.
Setting our reduction targets
We have translated our climate ambition into science-aligned reduction targets across Scopes 1, 2 and 3 - covering our own operations as well as the emissions generated across our broader value chain.
In December 2023, H&H's near-term emissions reduction targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), aligning our climate commitments with the latest climate science and the goals of the Paris Agreement. For full details on our targets and annual progress, please refer to our Annual Sustainability Report.

Our reduction targets (from a 2022 base)

Scope 1: 46.2% emission reduction

Scope 2: 100% Renewable Electricity

Scope 3: 55% emission reduction

Scope 3: 52% of suppliers to set science-based targets
Disclosing our climate risks
Understanding climate risk is as important as reducing emissions. We have integrated climate resilience into our core strategic decision-making, using a scientific scenario analysis framework, drawing on IPCC and NGFS climate models, to identify risks and opportunities across our value chain.
Guided by the IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures standard, climate risk assessment is embedded into our governance architecture, with Board-level oversight exercised through our dedicated ESG Committee to ensure that climate considerations are built into how we plan, decide and operate.
Full details of our governance framework, scenario analysis and risk assessment are available in our Annual Sustainability Report.

Empowering our people
In 2023, we launched the H&H Academy for Change
A global learning programme designed to equip our team members with the knowledge and tools to navigate sustainability challenges and actively contribute to our environmental goals.
We have developed a range of internal learning initiatives, including e-learning modules, video content and targeted training sessions, to build environmental awareness and keep our teams informed, engaged and empowered to act.
As part of this initiative, we created the H&H Forest in Sai Thai, Thailand, in partnership with Ecomatcher, planting 4,000 trees across five native species as a tangible symbol of our collective commitment to environmental resilience. Every team member who completed the training received a unique tree, symbolising their role in promoting sustainability and contributing to reforestation efforts.
